Traditional Five-Flower Tea Recipe for Seasonal Detox (~5 servings)
Ingredients
- 12g Chrysanthemum (Ju Hua)
- 10g Silk Cotton Flower (Mu Mian Hua)
- 12g Honeysuckle (Jin Yin Hua)
- 10g Pueraria Flower (Ge Hua)
- 10g Frangipani (Ji Dan Hua)
- 1.8 liters filtered water
- 30–40g yellow rock sugar (adjust to preference)
Instructions
- Lightly rinse all dried flowers under cool running water to remove any surface impurities.
- Add the cleaned herbs and water into a soup pot and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce to low heat and let it gently steep for about 15–20 minutes with the lid slightly ajar.
- Add rock sugar and stir until completely melted.
- Turn off the heat and strain the tea into a serving pot or pitcher right away to preserve its delicate flavor.
- Serve warm, or allow it to cool for a refreshing drink.
